SWITCHING

How long does it take to switch from one fund to another?
If we receive notification before 9.30am the switch will take place the same working day at close of business. For all notifications received after this time, the switch will take place at the close of business the following working day.

How often do you perform / recommend switches?

Jay Tamsitt, our Investment Manager, is constantly monitoring the range of funds we use. We will notify you/the trustees periodically if we believe any particular fund no longer meets the performance we deem suitable for your/the trustees plan or risk profile. Your adviser will also monitor your plan and alert you/the trustees if there are any concerns.

I
f you wish to discuss any particular fund held within your plan, or you feel that a fund should be switched in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact your adviser.

How much does it cost to switch funds?
Switching is currently free of charge on all Skandia plans.

What do I do if I feel that the risk profile shown does not currently match my/the trustees attitude to risk?
Please contact your adviser to discuss whether the current mix of funds held within your plan suits your attitude to risk.

Where do I get information on the funds I am invested in?
For Skandia funds only there is a link via this website to the fact sheets for all the funds currently on our recommended shortlist. These are updated monthly and provide information such as recent fund performance and current asset spread. If there is not a fact sheet or you wish to discuss a particular fund please contact your adviser accordingly.

Am I restricted to the investment plans only available from Skandia?
Definitely not. As Independent Financial Advisers we can recommend to you from any providers range of products. As the Skandia platform provides very competitive charging structures, reduced and easy administration and a wide choice of product options this is our preferred but not exclusive route when recommending investment solutions.

How do I get valuations on my other non Skandia plans?
Please ring your adviser or Lucie Donnithorne on 01483 521521 who will be able to contact the provider and obtain a valuation on your behalf.

How up to date are my valuations?
Skandia valuations are downloaded to our website daily so they should be up to date. If your valuation shows an earlier date, this may be because transactions are being processed on your account at that time. Up to date valuations will be downloaded as soon as the transactions are completed. This daily service is currently only available for Skandia plans and if you need an up to date value for a plan with another company you will need to contact this office where we can individually obtain the information you require.

How often will you review my portfolio?
Jay Tamsitt, our Investment Manager, is constantly monitoring the shortlist of investment funds we use. We will notify you/the trustees periodically if we believe any particular fund no longer meets the performance we deem suitable for your/the trustees plan or risk profile. Likewise if a new fund is launched and we believe it will enhance your portfolio we will contact you accordingly to discuss this situation. Your adviser will send a formal review of your plan every six months and is available at any time to discuss the plan or any particular fund held within it.

How do you make changes to my portfolio?
We have an arrangement with Skandia where we can make fund changes (switches) from this office without the completion of any paperwork. If we notify you recommending a fund switch and we receive your acceptance before 9.30am the switch will take place the same working day at close of business. For all notifications received after 9:30am, the switch will take place at the close of business the following working day. Switches are currently free of charge on all Skandia plans.

How much will advice cost?
This, understandably, is one of the most common questions we are asked. The initial consultation is at our expense and you are under absolutely no obligation to proceed. If you choose to go ahead we will clearly detail the likely costs and charges and can arrange to work on either a fee-paying or commission basis.

Is the advice I receive independent and impartial?
Yes. Many financial advisers in the UK can only recommend products or services from one or a limited number of companies. Such tied advisers actually work for the product providers, attempting to find a product to suit you from a restricted range of options. Dentons advisers select investments from across the whole market. We are not tied to any bank, building society, investment house or insurance company and will always act in your best interests.

What happens if I don’t go ahead with the recommendations?
There is no obligation for you to act upon our advice and in the large majority of cases, if you don't want to proceed, there is no charge unless agreed beforehand. Any personal information about you will be destroyed and we would be grateful if you could indicate why you have not gone ahead, as this will help us improve our services in the future.

Will the adviser be fully qualified?
Yes. Indeed we encourage our Financial Practitioners to continue their studies and gain qualifications at a higher standard than the minimum required by our regulators. Our advisers are selected for their integrity, knowledge and experience. They can give you details of their qualifications and individual experience on request.

Where will the meeting take place?
After you have made an enquiry to Dentons our adviser will contact you very soon afterwards and arrange a meeting at a mutually agreed time. The initial meeting can be held either here in our offices, at your home or any place that is convenient for you.

What after sales service do you offer?
If you become a client of Dentons Investment Services you will receive regular updates on your investments and we offer an annual face to face review. Dentons produce regular newsletters and through our website you can have access to up-to-date valuations and investment commentaries. You can contact us personally at anytime, free of charge, on 01483 521521 to discuss your current investments.
