Latest Position on Protected Rights in SIPPs

On 10 December 2007 the DWP issued a Consultation Paper on Draft Regulations regarding SIPPs being able to hold Protected Rights. The consultation period ends 29 February 2008. Until that date has passed we cannot be certain what changes will be needed to SIPPs to accommodate Protected Rights. When the regulations are finalised, the new legislation will likely come into effect from October 2008.
