With the end of the tax year end falling on Sunday 5 April, the last working day of the tax year is Friday 3 April 2020. So, we would like to remind you of our requirements for:

  • SIPP contributions
  • Establishing a new SIPP.

Establishing a new SIPP.


If you are looking to establish a new SIPP, our Sales Support team can set up one up within seven working days. Therefore, where a client wishes to establish a Dentons SIPP to accept a contribution for the current tax year (2019/20), the SIPP needs to be established no later than Monday 30 March 2020 and the contribution paid by 3 April.

Our Sales Support team are available to review any scanned SIPP applications before sending us all the relevant forms and anti-money laundering identity verification documents. This will help ensure that all applications will be accepted upon receipt, thereby preventing a delay in processing.

Clients with exisiting SIPPs, may also wish to make contibutions, payments must be provided to Dentons' main office in Godalming, by 3 April.

  • Unused annual allowance from the 2016/17 tax year, may still be available under carry forward rules once the current annual allowance has been used (Please note that unused annual allowance from the 2016/17 tax year will be lost on 6 April 2020)
  • Please remember that the tapered annual allowance came into effect on 6 April 2016 and clients might be affected by the taper depending on their threshold and adjusted earnings figures each year since then
  • Payments by cheque must be made payable to the client's SIPP, e.g. Dentons SIPP J J Bloggs
  • For payments by bank transfer, the SIPP's default Cater Allen bank account must be open to receive funds.
