For more than 30 years, AKG has supported financial advisers by providing independent assessments that help them understand the operational and financial strength of providers within the industry.
In its latest assessment, AKG highlighted several key strengths of Dentons Pensions, noting that:
- Dentons Pensions has operated in the self invested pension market for over 45 years, with an established and experienced senior leadership team, further enhanced by management succession in recent years.
- The business has built its reputation as a professional and efficient pension administrator through a combination of organic growth, selective acquisitions, and consistent delivery of high service standards. This focus on independence, flexibility and service quality continues to underpin its growth strategy.
- Dentons operates a proprietary administration system, with a long track record of stability and ongoing development; this system has proved to be effective in support of the efficient migration of acquired businesses
- Dentons states that it achieves the high service standards through efficient administration processes, which are continually reviewed and updated.
- Experienced Pension Administrators support its Pension Consultants to look after all aspects of a client’s retirement provision. All work is undertaken by a specific team rather than a departmental approach, offering bespoke individual administration services and support.
- Capital adequacy has been consistently positive, increasing to 476% as at 30 June 2025
- DPM is informed and guided by its good understanding of the needs and challenges for financial advisers and clients. The business has no ties to any fund manager or insurance company, so clients can invest their pension funds in a wide range of asset classes compatible with HMRC and FCA regulations.
- An extensive range of technical materials is made available via the Dentons website, including guides, case studies, due diligence reports and articles, aimed at clients, advisers and paraplanners. The firm also contributes expertise directly to the adviser community, having delivered seminars at Professional Paraplanner events nationwide over a number of years.
